The Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box. We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company (now with Sony), and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the o2 to celebrate the Millennium. Ministry of Sound Games is now taking over the iconic London nightclub for a high-energy fitness event like no other. Combining 35 years of party heritage with cutting-edge workouts, this all-new experience blends explosive group training with a live DJ soundtrack, turning fitness into a full-blown day festival. THE ROLE
We are seeking an enterprising and visionary Head of Fitness Development to lead the evolution of Ministry of Sound Games. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for fitness, innovation, and brand growth. You will drive product excellence, identify scalable opportunities, and spearhead brand extensions that align with our mission to revolutionise competitive fitness events through music and socialisation.
- Your key responsibilities will include strategic planning and business development, creating a comprehensive business plan for launching a fitness-focused event in key markets, starting in London with ambitions to scale internationally and beyond.
- You will lead the refinement and evolution of our core fitness product Ministry of Sound Games, ensuring it remains cutting-edge and engaging.
- You will collaborate with design, tech, and content teams to enhance user experience.
- You will identify and execute opportunities to scale the product across new markets, platforms, and demographics.
- You will develop and test new monetisation models, partnerships, and distribution channels.
- You will launch brand extension opportunities (e.g. merchandise, live events, licensing, collaborations), and forge strategic partnerships with fitness influencers, music artists, and wellness brands.
- Staying ahead of fitness events, and music trends to inform product strategy and innovation will be key to this role and you will be focused on using data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and growth.
- You’ll lead the development of marketing campaigns to promote events, working with the digital marketing and social media team to drive engagement and ticket sales.
- You’ll manage the fitness business P&L, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning, monitoring and reporting on the performance of the business, providing key insights and recommendations to senior leaders.
- You will have the skills to build and lead a high-performing fitness development team, fostering a culture of creativity, experimentation, and excellence.
- You’ll manage the end-to-end execution of events, ensuring seamless operations, from venue selection to staffing and event-day logistics.
