Crown Court Admin Officers are responsible for the management of criminal digital files in preparation for hearings, handling correspondence and general enquiries. The Crown office processes enquiries from criminal justice agencies, solicitors, barristers and the public via post, email, telephone and face-to-face contact. The role involves a full range of serious criminal work and jury management. You will be assigned to teams to carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or to provide support to other functions within HMCTS. The successful candidate will fulfil the role of the Jury Officer and will be responsible for jury management across three Crown Court sites: Worcester, Hereford and Redditch.

This is a customer-facing operational role based in an office to provide HMCTS services to the public.
Responsibilities:
- Manage criminal digital files and prepare for hearings, including handling correspondence and enquiries
- Provide jury management support across three Crown Court sites (Worcester, Hereford, Redditch)
- Carry out general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or support other HMCTS functions
- Act as the Jury Officer and maintain effective communication with court users by phone, email and in person
- Work in a fast-paced, office-based environment, delivering a high standard of service to the public and other stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in customer service, administration and IT systems
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task and adapt to using various software packages
- Willingness to work as part of a team in a busy court environment and to help court users navigate the justice system
Working Arrangements and Eligibility:
- Standard full-time hours: 37 hours per week
- Part-time, flexible and job-sharing patterns are considered in line with the MoJ Flexible Working policy
- For part-time work, minimum hours are 30 per week over 4 days
- Hybrid working arrangements are available where business needs allow, with a minimum 60% of time in an office (subject to local estate capacity)
- National/office location will be allocated near the candidate’s home postcode, on its pay scale
