Our Team Leaders play a critical role in helping deliver justice. This role enables you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills. You are responsible for ensuring your team delivers excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management. Leading your team, you will focus on your area of work, prioritising and organising work and ensuring your team is fully skilled to meet objectives.

As an effective Team Leader, you recognise the importance of the team's wellbeing and can motivate your team to succeed. You will contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary. Your eye for detail and desire for continuous improvement is key to your success. Monitoring and analysing performance, conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices, and recommending improvements, navigating change and implementing new initiatives and legislation are essential. This is a challenging and rewarding role, key to the smooth running of operational functions throughout HMCTS.

We are committed to helping you develop your leadership skills through our HMCTS leadership offer, which provides a wide range of activities from development programmes to bite-size guides to build your ability and confidence to lead, guide and inspire others. This role is customer facing and office-based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing patterns where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. Applications for part-time working would be considered; however, due to the nature of the role, the minimum hours are 30 hours per week over 5 days.

Successful applicants must ensure they have and maintain the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom. The Department will continue to comply with UK Immigration Rules. The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business needs allow. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
