Starting salary: £37,875 for a 39 hour week (20% unsocial hours). City/Town: Woking. Region: Kent, Surrey & Sussex. Vacancy type: Merit.

Qualifications & requirements
- At least 18 years old at commencement
- Meet Civil Service Nationality requirements
- Pass a medical and fitness assessment
- Meet required eyesight standard in both eyes
- Meet suitable standard of hearing (without hearing aids)
- Tattoos permitted when not offensive, discriminatory, violent or intimidating. Facial tattoos generally not acceptable except cultural, religious or medical reasons.
- For high‑security prison (category A) must have been resident in UK for last 3 years.
Application process
Stage 1: Online test (basic judgement & numerical skills).
Stage 2: Task‑based assessment.
Online assessment centre (OAC).
Medical and fitness test (eyesight, hearing, health screening).
Pay and hours
- 37 hours a week = £35,746 a year
- 39 hours a week = £37,875 a year
- 41 hours a week = £40,003 a year
