This role is based in Surrey (Guildford, Redhill and Staines). It offers full‑time and part‑time options with a fixed base location. You will be required to travel to other offices within the region and receive a travel allowance at the relevant financial year rate and terms of contract.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise work groups of offenders serving community sentences.
  • Drive service vehicles to transport people or equipment.
  • Ensure all work site supervision tasks are carried out to the best of their ability and work with service users to demonstrate good practice.
  • Work frequent weekends and may be asked to cover evenings as part of the normal pattern.

Qualifications

  • Hold a full UK Manual Driving Licence (automatic licences are not accepted).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom and in the Civil Service.
  • Compliance with the Skilled Worker visa requirements in place from 22 July 2025 (HM Prison and Probation Service will only sponsor if you have held a Skilled Worker visa prior to that date).

Benefits and Conditions

  • Starting salary of £28,064 (pro‑rata for part‑time roles).
  • Pay progression through the Competency Based Framework (CBF) is available.
  • Weekend days are paid at a higher rate of 50% above the normal rate.
  • Work pattern is flexible – a typical 37‑hour week may consist of 4 days of 9.25 hours, including at least one weekend day, with remaining days discussed based on operational delivery.
  • The role accommodates caring responsibilities and includes support for wellbeing.
