Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 at the commencement of employment.
- Meet Civil Service nationality requirements.
- Pass a medical and fitness assessment.
- Meet required eyesight standard in both eyes.
- Meet a suitable hearing standard for safety reasons.
- CTC vetting required to work at HMP Long Lartin.
Application Process
The online application requires your National Insurance number and proof of right to work in the UK. Successful applicants will then progress through stage 1 online tests, a values‑based assessment (stage 2), and an online assessment centre.
Pay
Starting salary is £33,746 at HMP Long Lartin. Initial training lasts 37 hours a week; thereafter you may choose to work 37, 39, or 41 hours a week, and your salary will adjust accordingly.
Merit Vacancy
Successful candidates are placed on a merit list based on their assessment score. Positions are offered to those with the highest scores first. The merit list remains valid for 12 months.
