Role Overview

Community Payback Supervisor – full time (37 hours per week). The role is based on a working pattern of four condensed days (9.25 hours per day) with at least one weekend day and three other days required. The successful applicant will travel to different work sites in the Lincolnshire region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate groups of offenders who are serving a community sentence, ensuring they complete unpaid work hours and tasks.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead manual projects such as clearing overgrowth, restoring community facilities, planting trees, laying flowerbeds, litter picking and graffiti removal.
  • Drive service vehicles to transport offenders, equipment and materials between sites, maintaining safe and compliant operation.
  • Provide training and guidance on good practice to service users and demonstrate required skills as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for all supervised activities, as required by Civil Service Success Profile criteria.
  • Support the probation service goals of improving outcomes for offenders and enhancing the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence – automatic licence holders are not eligible.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams, preferably in a community or social care environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and engage offenders.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and handle equipment safely.
  • Willingness to work frequent weekends and occasional evenings.

Salary and Benefits

  • Starting salary of £28,064 (minimum of the pay band).
