The Probation Service is looking for a Probation Services Officer to support offenders in the community. The role involves assessment, sentence implementation, offender management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage risks of offenders before and after sentence.
- Provide case management support to a full range of people on probation following service procedures and practice directions.
- Produce clear and accurate reports to tight deadlines.
- Offer practical advice on housing and employment and give emotional support.
- Work closely with courts and agencies throughout the justice system.
Qualifications
- Empathetic, patient and resilient.
- Organised and able to manage a caseload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with people who have social or personal difficulties β a degree is not required.
