HMCTS uses a variety of means to ensure the recovery of criminal fines and financial penalties and does everything within its powers to trace those who do not pay. This role involves creating and updating records in an in‑house computer system and contacting relevant parties to provide advice on the completion of forms or court procedures, ensuring excellent customer service. The holder will decide on the most effective enforcement method within current guidelines, using telephone and text‑message chasing and tracing tools, and engaging with managers, courts and other stakeholders to collect information, verify facts, communicate or enforce judicial decisions. This role is customer‑facing and office‑based, with the possibility of occasional hybrid working as permitted by the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update records on the HMCTS in‑house computer system.
- Contact relevant parties to advise on completion of forms or court procedures.
- Make decisions on the most effective enforcement method within current guidelines.
- Use telephone and text‑message chasing and tracing tools.
- Engage with managers, courts and other stakeholders (internal and external) to collect information, check facts, communicate or enforce judicial decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, confident in supporting customers via telephone, webchat and email.
- Experience working in an administrative role in a customer‑focused environment.
- Proficiency with IT and Microsoft Software packages.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
