The Senior Registered Psychologist will work with prisoners, people on probation and staff within the Youth Custody Service, applying psychological competence to reduce the risk of harm and re‑offending.

Responsibilities

  • Work with prisoners, people on probation and staff to reduce risk of harm and re‑offending.
  • Conduct risk assessments of prisoners.
  • Carry out research and provide consultancy within the service.
  • Deliver training to staff.
  • Provide assessment and interventions for offenders.

Qualifications

  • Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and eligible to use a protected title.
  • Two years post‑registration experience at the point of appointment.
  • Previous experience working with children in the youth justice system is desirable.

Location

Wetherby (West Yorkshire) or other YCS sites across England and Wales.
