Salary: Starting salary: £35,875 (for a 39‑hour week including 20% unsocial). Annual salaries: 37 hrs – £33,746; 39 hrs – £35,875; 41 hrs – £38,003.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the commencement of employment.
  • Meet the Civil Service nationality requirements.
  • Pass a medical and fitness assessment.
  • Meet required eyesight standards in both eyes.
  • Have a suitable standard of hearing (without the use of hearing aids).
  • Tattoos are permitted if not offensive, violent or intimidating; facial tattoos generally not acceptable unless cultural, religious or medical.
  • For work in a high‑security (category A) prison, you must have been a UK resident for the last three years.
