Our Chamber is part of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), an agency of the Ministry of Justice responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. The First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) handles applications, appeals and references relating to disputes over property and land. The Chamber consists of three divisions: Residential Property, Land Registration, and Agricultural Land & Drainage, and operates across five regional centres – Birmingham, Cambridge, Havant, London, Manchester and Leicester. We are entering a transformative period, preparing for the implementation of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 and the Renters’ Rights Act 2025. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to deliver excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.
  • Prioritise and organise work, ensuring the team is fully skilled to meet objectives.
  • Contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team, mediators and judiciary.
  • Monitor and analyse performance areas and trends, conduct ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices, and recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
  • Support the team’s wellbeing, motivate and inspire them to succeed.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
  • Experience working in an administrative role in a customer-focused environment.
  • IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.

Working Arrangements

Office based. Hybrid working is available on a non-contractual basis where business needs are met; a minimum of 25 hours (part‑time) or 37 hours (full‑time). Occasional travel to other National Services sites may be required.
