Team Leader, Planning and Operational Support Team, Judicial College – Executive Officer (EO)
The Judicial College is an independent branch of the Civil Service dedicated to supporting judicial independence and training the judiciary. The College supports the Lady Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals, delivering around 2,000 judicial seminars each year and developing digital training platforms. This role is based in London or Leeds, with travel to other sites as required.
Overview
We are looking to appoint an Executive Officer to lead a team of event organisers within the Planning and Operational Support Team (POpS). The team supports magistrate training programmes across various delivery methods – digital, face‑to‑face and blended learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of event organisers at AO grade to provide administrative support for magistrate training.
- Manage team people issues including performance, attendance and conduct in line with HR policies.
- Establish, monitor and revise plans for the administrative support of jurisdictional training programmes.
- Collaborate with other team leaders and managers to ensure the wider training programme is effectively managed and resourced.
- Maintain accurate records of attendees at training events to support budget management.
- Support senior managers in the design, testing and embedding of new or improved administrative procedures.
- Set up and manage the training event area on the College’s online Learning site, overseeing course pages, bookings and materials.
- Ensure appropriate training venues are booked and delegates are fully informed of arrangements.
- Attend training events to provide event support when required.
- Take minutes of committee and planning meetings when required.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience leading and managing a team.

- Strong numerical accuracy, monitoring and quality‑checking skills.
- Planning and managing a large portfolio of work.

- Collaborative working skills.
- Good IT skills across a wide range of platforms (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Office Suite).

Working Hours
This is a full‑time role (37 hours per week) with a flexible working policy. The post can be based in London or Leeds, with occasional travel to the other sites.
