Learning and Skills Coach
£37,238 - £44,520 (plus London allowance payable by discussion at interview).
Working pattern: Full Time (fixed term, 12 months, potential to become permanent).
Role Summary
As a Learning and Skills Coach you will deliver high‑quality coaching, learning and practice‑support activities, including workshops and action‑learning sets, to probation practitioners across London.
You will support learners to consolidate skills, apply learning to their caseloads, and develop confidence in their professional role.
You will work as part of a structured coaching and training team, contribute to classroom sessions and practice‑based support, and maintain records and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured coaching, mentoring and learning activities in line with the agreed regional model.
- Deliver classroom training, workshops and action learning sets.
- Work closely with line managers and Band 5 managers to support learner progress and consolidation of skills.
- Maintain accurate records of learning activity and contribute to evaluation and feedback processes.
- Identify emerging learning needs, risks or concerns and raise appropriate concerns.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.
Person Specification
- Experience of supporting learning or development in an operational or professional environment.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain concepts clearly and give constructive feedback.
- Understanding of how learning is applied and sustained in practice and experience of coaching or mentoring staff.
- Ability to work within clear structure, guidance and quality standards.
- Experience of reflective practice and action‑learning approaches.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to complete the learning required to obtain a formal coaching qualification if not already achieved.
- Experience working within probation, social care, mental health or related public services.
