Responsibilities
- Protect the public and maintain a secure environment within the prison
- Support prisoners' rehabilitation through opportunities such as counselling, teaching and other roles
- Build constructive, professional relationships with prisoners to facilitate positive change
- Work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Meet Civil Service nationality requirements (UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkish nationals with right-to-work status)
- Pass a medical and fitness assessment (eyesight, hearing, general health)
- Be a UK resident for the last 3 years if applying to a high-security (Category A) prison

Pay
- 37 hours a week – £35,746 per year
- 39 hours a week – £37,875 per year
