The advertised post is a full time (37 hours per week) role based on a pattern of 4 condensed days (9.25 hours per day) per week. The post holder will be required to work at least one weekend day plus three other days to be confirmed on appointment. The successful applicant will be expected to travel to different work sites in the Lincolnshire region as part of the role. Candidates must hold a full UK Manual Driving Licence; this is a mandatory technical requirement. We cannot accept candidates who hold an automatic Driving Licence only.

A career in community payback involves supervising offenders on probation and supporting communities. You may be involved in tasks such as building benches, cleaning streets, or other practical projects to help the community. The role may include driving service vehicles and supervising work sites.

Starting salary on successful recruitment will be £28,064. You will typically spend up to 7 hours supervising a group at a Community Payback unpaid work placement. Weekend working may be required as part of the normal pattern of work. The Community Payback supervisor role accommodates people on probation who work or have caring responsibilities. Projects run 7 days a week; you may work frequent weekends and some evenings. Weekend days you work may be paid at a higher rate of 50%.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational supervision of work groups of offenders serving a community sentence.
  • May include driving service vehicles to transport people or equipment.
  • Responsible for all work site supervision tasks and ensuring tasks are carried out to the best of participants’ ability.
  • Work alongside people to demonstrate good practice as necessary.
  • Specific duties include leading small teams to complete unpaid work hours and supervising a range of manual tasks to pay back for harm caused.
  • Tasks may include clearing overgrowth, restoring community facilities (e.g., sports halls and playgrounds), planting trees or flowerbeds, litter picking and graffiti removal.

Qualifications & requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK is required.
  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is required.
  • DBS Enhanced level security check is required.
