Our Operations Managers play a crucial role helping deliver justice and are accountable for day-to-day operations across Gloucester Civil and Family Courts, Gloucester Crown and Cheltenham Magistrates. We are seeking an experienced leader able to motivate remote teams, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure our services are customer focused and efficient.
You will be responsible for the strategic oversight of Civil and Family, Crown and Magistrates Courts, supporting your Deputy Head of Operations to meet operational needs and deliver regional performance objectives. You will be at the forefront of organisational change, making a real difference in how service is delivered, working in a supportive environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
Leading a team of two Delivery Managers to provide a consistent and customer-focused service, you will drive a collaborative culture across the region, ensure effective deployment of resources and manage an allocated budget to control delegated expenditure, ensuring efficiencies are made. These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment.
This role is offered as a job share, working Wednesday - Friday, 22.12 hours a week. Occasional travel to other courts is required between Gloucester Civil and Family Courts, Gloucester Crown and Cheltenham Magistrates.
Additional Information: The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles, successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale. This may be at a HQ building, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO). For MoJ employees, base location may change to the nearest viable office and to the corresponding pay scale.
Some terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. Details will be available if an offer is made. MoJ candidates on specialist grades may retain their grade on lateral transfer. All candidates currently in receipt of Mark Time / Pay Protection should review the new policy on permanent and temporary promotion. Flexible working hours are available in many offices.
