Overview
Position: Programme Facilitator – Probation Service
Location: North Devon (Barnstaple) with regular travel to other regional sites and residential training sessions. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and travel as required.
Salary: £28,064 per annum plus unsocial hour premiums (50% for Saturdays, 30% for evenings) and annual progression through the Competency Based Framework.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, including regular unsocial hours (evenings and weekends).
Responsibilities
- Deliver Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions to offenders subject to community orders or licence.
- Facilitate group and one‑to‑one sessions for offenders with various offence types, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse and violent or acquisitive offences.
- Manage group dynamics, address challenging behaviour and keep sessions focused and constructive.
- Monitor progress, risk and wellbeing throughout the intervention and maintain accurate records.
- Share insights with Probation Practitioners, Domestic Abuse Safety Officers and other relevant teams.
- Work in partnership with courts and criminal justice agencies to support sentence management.
- Provide workshops and briefings to probation staff and external stakeholders.
- Model pro‑social behaviour and encourage positive change.
- Travel to residential training and to various sites; claim travel expenses.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Right to work in the UK; no eligibility for a new Skilled Worker visa after 22 July 2025 unless previously held.
- Prepared to work unsocial hours, including evenings and Saturdays.
- Willingness to travel to the North Devon office and other regional sites; attendance at residential training required.
- Relevant experience in offender rehabilitation or related work is desirable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with multi‑agency teams.
