Overview

This is a management role responsible for planning, managing and overseeing the delivery of accredited offending behaviour programmes within an establishment. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with the Interventions Integrity Framework, organisational policies and HMPPS accreditation standards, while achieving performance outcomes and supporting the reduction of reoffending.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the administration and facilitation team, providing guidance, CPD and involvement in intervention planning and supervision.
  • Develop an annual delivery plan, ensuring sufficient programme spaces, clear milestones, and alignment with prisoner needs and staff training.
  • Monitor and report on the performance and execution of the delivery plan to senior leaders and national teams.
  • Co‑operate with regional and national psychology teams and a network of Programme Managers to support strategic agendas aligned with the HMPPS Rehabilitative Strategy.
  • Attend relevant meetings at local and national levels and participate in appropriate training.
  • Build productive relationships with all staff, ensuring treatment managers are effectively supported.
  • Act as a consultant on accredited and non‑accredited programmes following HMPPS policies and the National Framework for Interventions.
  • Ensure programme delivery meets baselines from programme manuals, the IIF document and HMPPS accreditation standards.
  • Integrate programmes with other establishment processes, contributing to risk management and staff awareness of offending behaviour programmes.
  • Lead continuous improvement and compliance initiatives arising from QA feedback, HMIP, MQPL and other action plans.
  • Oversee the AIM team, coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to manage group members and their treatment needs.

Experience and Skills

  • Highly organised with a strong commitment to treatment and rehabilitation work.
  • Proven experience in managing staff and processes.
  • Capability to fulfil spoken aspects of the role in English (and Welsh where specified in Wales).
