Overview

The role provides administrative support to the Security Intelligence Department and assists the Head of Security in delivering an effective intelligence system. It is a non‑operational position with no line management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and evaluate intelligence information to support decision making and prevent security breaches.
  • Carry out further analysis on Security Incidents Reports (SIRs) when required.
  • Produce and disseminate a monthly Intelligence Report; present findings at the monthly Security meeting.
  • Update line management on local security issues and intelligence received.
  • Maintain, update and ensure proper use of the security intelligence system; train staff as needed.
  • Check incoming security information, determine importance, and recommend responses.
  • Collate and distribute monthly targets for searching and mandatory drug tests to residential units.
  • Deliver in‑house training on intelligence procedures, including induction for new staff.
  • Liaise with other establishments, law enforcement, and external agencies to share intelligence and SIRs in line with policy.
  • Provide advice to the Security Manager on trends, targeting under supply‑reduction and extremism policies.
  • Monitor RIPA, CHIS, LSS, IOCCO, and prisoner communications in line with policy and audit standards.
  • Support the Corruption Prevention Manager in detecting staff wrongdoing and preventing crime.
  • Act as liaison for the BRENT secure fax and ViSOR issues within the security department.
  • Interview prisoners regarding extremist bullying or requests related to the Counter Terrorism Unit.
  • Brief residential units on covert testing and compile subject profiles for TACT prisoners.
  • Assess seized items for extremist content and complete corresponding reports.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage communications, and coordinate monitoring returns.
  • Input requisitions into the finance database and coordinate awareness sessions.
  • Prepare paperwork for managerial checks, conduct initial checks, and maintain database logs.
  • Collate Service Delivery Indicator data and arrange meetings with required documentation.
  • Accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a comparable level.
