Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage the daily running of a correctional workshop, ensuring production and quality standards are met.
  • Plan, deliver and assess recognised qualifications to prisoners, fostering an inclusive and learner‑focused environment.
  • Apply health and safety legislation in an industrial workshop setting, providing evidence of past experience.
  • Communicate and influence staff, prisoners and stakeholders to achieve workshop objectives.
  • Manage the quality of services delivered, continually improving processes.
  • Develop staff and yourself through training, mentoring and reflective practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in adult training or education.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial/workshop environment.
  • Experience working in a secure or prison setting is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of applying communication, influencing and quality management skills.
  • Standard DBS check required; higher levels of security clearance may be needed.
