Role Overview
Senior Forensic Psychologist – Youth Custody Services (YCS).
The successful candidate will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and may work under a hybrid arrangement across Mo J sites and home, subject to UK residency.
Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical co‑ordinating supervisor for trainees on recognised training routes.
- Line‑manage and supervise the practice of other staff, including trainee psychologists.
- Provide clinical supervision, interventions and safety assessments for children and young people in the youth justice system.
- Support YCS teams in children’s support services, staff well‑being and organisational safety.
- Deliver CPD and career development activities across the custodial estate.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered with the HCPC as a psychologist.
- Minimum 18 months post‑registration experience (two years required for formal appointment). Two years of experience generally preferred.
- Professional membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) – Chartered Psychologist status preferred.
- Evidence of clinical supervision experience and training in effective treatment models.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Working Arrangements
The post offers a hybrid working model, with appointments typically based at a Mo J office near the applicant’s nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office.
Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
