Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all aspects of Product digital/technology support across Low Code working alongside Delivery and other functions to ensure service success.
  • Manage and control the digital and technology assets, resources, subscriptions and calendar of activities needed to keep the end-to-end service operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare and maintain analysis and knowledge to understand user needs for their product.
  • Analyse and understand the technical and practical detail about how their product works, serves user needs and could be developed.
  • Coordinate the multiple providers and suppliers involved in delivering the end-to-end service, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for any necessary communications about all aspects of operating and developing their digital/technology product, as part of an end-to-end service delivered to HMCTS users.
  • Act as a central contact point for all digital and technology matters related to their product.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and review systems and service standards to provide quality, efficiency and value for money.
  • Develop proposals to improve the quality of service with involvement from a diverse range of staff, stakeholders or delivery partners.
  • Plan ahead and reassess workloads and priorities as situations change, working closely with all stakeholders.
  • Own the product vision, align it to business goals, and translate stakeholder needs/requirements into a clear roadmap. Prioritise effectively, define success metrics, and ensure the team delivers measurable value.
  • Drive Innovation and Continuous improvements with suppliers and key stakeholders; lead discussions building strong supplier relationships. Present and influence internal stakeholders on proposed technology changes and how that aligns with the organisation's objectives.
  • Help to co‑coordinate the appropriate suppliers and stakeholders to support the resolution of incidents. Bring together resolution teams across the organisation and proactively encourage resolution, provide guidance and take responsibility for resolution with the incident team.
  • Assess and respond to queries and issues as they arise, providing further analysis as required or escalating complex issues to relevant members of the team. Maintain accountability and drive issues forward.
  • Help provide direction, support and objectives for team members, both individual and organisational, creating an environment that supports positive learning, sharing ideas and developing a culture of continuous improvement.

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

Skills and Experience

  • A good understanding of financial data is required along with excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and be familiar with capital and resource terminology, budgets and forecasting. Manage and maintain spend working with finance teams. Create Business Cases when required, with the ability to articulate purpose, costs, benefits, risks, scope, objectives, assumptions and dependencies of a Product.
  • You will be resilient and used to dealing with difficult and complex situations.
  • Able to support multiple Product deliveries at the same time.
  • Have experience of managing potential conflict to resolution while being aware of individual needs.
  • Regularly used creative thought to develop possible courses of action.
  • Evaluated risks and made judgements on the most appropriate solutions.
  • Experience of problem solving and working with others to deliver at pace.
  • Have acted independently on day‑to‑day issues and taken a strategic view on operational or policy areas.
  • Understand product lifecycle and product management.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of owning or contributing to a digital product or service, including shaping direction and delivering outcomes.
  • Understanding the product lifecycle, including live service and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints.
  • Use of Data and insights to drive decision making.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands, delivering at pace.
  • Excellent communication and written skills with evidence of effective and clear messaging.
  • Strong stakeholder and influencing skills to work alongside key and diverse stakeholder groups.

Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to understand financial constraints and budget effectively.
  • Key understanding of emerging technology requirements and the potential impact on the team.
  • Evidence of contributing to product communities, standards or ways of working and sharing best practice.
  • Ability to coach or support less experienced team members.
