The Treatment Manager will be responsible for the quality oversight, facilitation and delivery of Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions that address offending behaviour and meet court‑mandated sentences. Based regionally, the role reports directly to a Programme Manager and, while it has no direct line management duties, it will provide professional supervision to Programme Facilitators and professional advice to enhance performance and development opportunities. The role also requires ensuring that Programme Facilitators deliver programmes in accordance with the Accredited Programme manual and session content requirements through video monitoring, feedback and group supervision, and providing on‑call cover for referral enquiries and staff support as per the rota, including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure the quality of delivery of interventions, including post‑programme work by Facilitators to ensure all programmes are monitored as prescribed.
- Provide professional supervision, including session monitoring, to support skill development and maintain service integrity.
- Offer advice, training and consultancy to staff and external organisations, including practitioners and court staff, to ensure eligibility and suitability criteria are understood.
- Manage risks presented by People on Probation subject to Accredited Programmes or Structured Interventions, and exchange relevant information with Probation Practitioners.
- Coordinate, monitor and review planning and preparation for delivering programmes in accordance with the Programme Schedule, including suitability assessments and waiting lists.
- Continuously assess and support Programme Facilitators’ skill development, monitor performance, and report under‑performance or poor quality to the Programme Manager.
- Oversee risk management during programme delivery and ensure timely exchange of relevant information with Probation Practitioners.
- Contribute to and maintain a log of nationally agreed changes to the accredited programme manuals and ensure implementation.
- Deliver accredited and non‑accredited programmes as required to maintain accreditation.
Qualifications
- Experienced Programme Facilitator, trained in the delivery of two Accredited Programmes with knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings (Theory Manual).
- Experience working within the Criminal Justice or Social Care sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of group dynamics and the ability to motivate groups and individuals.
- Experience with prosocial modelling, motivational interviewing and challenging inappropriate language and behaviour.
- Experience supporting others to demonstrate professional practice skills.
- Strong written and ICT skills, and effective verbal communication with a range of audiences.
- Capability to undertake Treatment Services generic Treatment Management Training.
- Ability to work towards the Training and Assessment Skills for Intervention Specialist (TASIS) qualification.
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid‑working role with flexible arrangements, primarily based in the UK. The role may involve working from a MoJ office, a Justice Collaboration Centre or a Justice Satellite Office. Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks). Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing patterns are accommodated where business needs permit.
