The role involves delivering a range of Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions to people on Community Orders or licence after release, aiming to reduce re‑offending and support a constructive life in the community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver group and one‑to‑one interventions, ensuring a safe and structured environment that meets different learning styles and needs.
- Facilitate Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions designed to support desistance from crime and the building of pro‑social skills.
- Work with people who have perpetrated domestic abuse, sexual abuse, violent or acquisitive offences, including those placed on community orders or on licence after release.
- Monitor progress, risk and wellbeing throughout the intervention, keep accurate records and share insights with relevant teams.
- Collaborate with courts, Probation Practitioners, Domestic Abuse Safety Officers and other criminal justice agencies to support sentence management.
- Provide workshops and briefings to probation staff and external stakeholders using pro‑social modelling to reinforce positive behaviours.
- Work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends, and cover on Saturday to receive unsocial hours payments.
- Travel to different locations across a large regional area; travel expenses can be claimed.
- Undergo a 6‑month probationary period, including completing assessment centre training and passing required assessments.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK, with no requirement for a new Skilled Worker visa.
- Ability to travel and work on unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation or similar role within a criminal justice or rehabilitation context.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a constructive environment.
- Commitment to professional development and completion of required training.
Benefits
- Starting salary of £26,475 pro‑rata for part‑time roles, with unsocial hours payments for evenings (30%) and Saturdays (50%).
- Annual leave of 25 days on appointment, increasing to 30 days after five years, plus public holidays.
