We are looking for a digital strategy manager who can help us embed a digital-first approach across the agency, as well as providing expert guidance and expertise to our clients about all things digital – from social media best practice to SEO to digital content strategies and website development. Work will be primarily focused on low-cost and no-cost channels, so you should have a good idea of how to make an impact with compelling content on a tight budget.
At the heart of things, you are a strategist who asks questions, challenges, and researches in order to get the best solution for your client, no matter the brief. You’ll understand how digital solutions can be applied to communication problems that work for, reach, and influence a wide range of audiences. You’ll be an innovator with an eye towards emerging digital trends who is excited about digital and its potential, and able to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with a wider team of writers and designers.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Scoping projects and writing compelling proposals for clients to showcase the value of our digital service and strategic planning offerings.
- Making digital an essential component advising on channels and content by campaign, ensuring we are able to reach relevant audiences every time.
- Undertaking insight work into audiences and online conversation using tools such as Brandwatch, and putting together strategic recommendations for content and approach using this insight.
- Creating and delivering social media content plans to support campaign and marketing strategies for our clients.
- Working with the animation and websites manager to conduct website audits and create website content plans.
- Creating thought-leading content for blogs, websites and social media channels.
- Reporting on performance for live campaigns, analysing and applying results and sharing learnings.
- Advising clients and internal teams on best practice to ensure effective use of social media channels in a government context.
- Working with creative teams to execute content and strategies for digital channels including overseeing production of graphics, video and animation for social channels.
- Working with media planning and buying agencies where appropriate and advising clients accordingly.
- Devising and maintaining Design102’s social media presence ensuring there is consistent engagement and growth.
- Working closely with the head of strategic planning researching/staying abreast of trends and new social features and opportunities.
- Meeting with clients and presenting to them community management.
Essential experience and personal skills:
- Experience of using social media to support paid-for, no cost/low cost campaigns including to test and refine messages, scaling up for what works.
- Understanding of brand-building and management in the online space with an ability to advise clients on best practice.
- An in-depth understanding of online channels and how to leverage them to reach your target audience for different campaigns.
- Ability to analyse and advise on website optimisation to reinforce brand positioning.
- Well-versed in analytics – you can turn numbers into a story which help us take action, whether it is refining our messaging and creative, or changing channels to make a better use of budget.
- The ability to embed a digital-first ethos across Design102, educating each team about digital best practice and how to apply it in their role.
It’s an advantage if you have:
- Knowledge of WordPress.
- An understanding of media buying and analytics, especially Google Analytics.
- Experience of using channel management tools such as Brandwatch, Tweetdeck, Planoly.
- Experience working with media agencies inputting to media planning and buying briefs.
