A Community Payback Supervisor leads small teams of offenders in completing unpaid work in the community. The role involves supervising, training and motivating participants on manual tasks such as clearing overgrowth, building benches, cleaning streets, planting trees, graffiti removal and other community improvement works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a group of offenders at a community work placement, ensuring safety and that tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Plan and organise daily work activities, including transporting participants and equipment using service vehicles.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members on work performance, health and safety, and good practice.
  • Record attendance, progress and any incidents for reporting purposes.
  • Provide support for participants with caring responsibilities and promote their successful reintegration into the community.

Working Pattern and Hours

The role requires working Monday to Sunday, with a minimum of one weekend day per week and occasional evenings. Pay is £28,064 per annum, pro‑rated for part‑time. Weekend hours are paid at a 50% higher rate.

Key Requirements

  • Must hold a full UK Manual Driving Licence (auto only is not accepted).
  • Right to work in the UK and meet Civil Service immigration rules.
  • Eligible for a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams, preferably in community or probation settings.
  • Good communication skills, empathy and the ability to motivate and support people on a journey of rehabilitation.
