Description
Deliver accredited programmes and structured interventions to people who engage in harmful behaviour, helping reduce re‑offending and support the transition to a constructive, crime‑free future.
Work with diverse groups, using group dynamics and prosocial modelling to challenge anti‑social behaviour and promote positive change.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and debrief group and one‑to‑one sessions covering emotional management, problem solving, assertive communication, thinking skills and social/relationship skills.
- Monitor participants’ progress, provide feedback, and record outcomes on the relevant systems.
- Work as part of a team to support performance targets and programme integrity.
- Collaborate with Treatment Managers to assess risk, protective factors and treatment targets of group attendees.
- Attend regular training, feedback and development sessions and workshops.
- Maintain liaison with Probation Practitioners, Domestic Abuse Safety Officers and partner agencies to share information on progress, risk and needs.
- Actively recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns and protect children and vulnerable adults.
- Work up to three unsociable sessions per week (evenings and/or Saturday) and travel to different locations to deliver programmes.
Qualifications
- Training in the delivery of group work programmes as outlined in the Accredited Programme and Structured Interventions manuals.
- Experience delivering programme sessions to groups or individuals.
- Ability to record participant progress accurately and keep detailed records.
- Understanding of group dynamics and the complex needs of people on probation.
- Commitment to working with a diverse population and a strong inclusive ethos.

- Salary and Pay
Starting salary: £28,064 per annum.
Working unsociable hours (evenings or Saturday) earns additional payments: 30 % for evenings and 50 % for Saturdays.
Annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF) and civil service pay band increases apply.
