Role Overview
The post holder will support the CP Manager to ensure that all Community Payback placements meet the policy objectives of the organisation and comply with relevant legislation.
This is a high-profile role responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with a range of current and future partner organisations, customers and stakeholders, including voluntary and statutory organisations.
The post holder will ensure that sufficient work placements that meet the quality standards set out in the Community Payback Guidance are available so that the sentence of the Court can be carried out effectively.
Post holders may be required to undertake weekend working as part of their normal pattern of working.

Recruitment Process
The application will be sifted once the application deadline has closed.
Candidates who meet the required standard at sift may be held pending future assessment stages rather than progressing immediately.
Interview invitations and subsequent offers will be managed in line with the tranche in which candidates are assessed and their position in merit order.
If you apply for multiple vacancies for the same role, only one of your applications will be progressed.
Any assessment scores achieved will be applied consistently across all applications for that role and will be valid for 6 months.
Candidates who do not meet the minimum benchmark at either the Sift or Interview stage will not be eligible to reapply for the same role for six months from the date their assessment scores are progressed.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain working relationships with a range of stakeholders including local authorities and charities to ensure sufficient numbers of Community Payback work placements.
- Explore opportunities for people to access on-the-job training and education to develop their skills and increase their chances of employment while they complete their unpaid work hours.
- Be expected to work weekends when needed to cover for Community Payback supervisors or to visit project sites (such as schools which are not accessible on weekdays).
Any weekend days worked will be paid at a higher rate.
- Manage reserve lists for applicants with multiple location preferences and appoint in merit list order for each outlined location, maintaining the list for 12 months.
- Reject or accept offers from the reserve list in accordance with the checklist and notify the vacancy holder.
- Working Pattern & Remote
This is a Part-Time role for 18.5 hours per week.
Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid.
The Mo J offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows.
Hybrid work involves working from the base location, different Mo J sites and/or from home; the role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Some roles may not be suitable for hybrid working.
- Salary & Benefits
- Starting salary £28064, Pro-Rata.
- Annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF) which may see pay increase as competence grows.
- Annual Leave: 25 days on appointment, increasing to 30 days after five years’ service, plus public holidays; calculated pro-rata for part-time and job-share posts.
- Pension: The National Probation Service is covered by the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) run through the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF).
Current civil servants enrolled in PCSPS will be opted out of PCSPS and auto-enrolled into LGPS.
