This role sits within the South Central Prisons Group and reports directly to the Group Offender Management Lead. While based within the Regional Group structure, and under the Reducing Reoffending support role, this role focuses on the Offender Management aspects and the job description. The post holder will provide Offender Management support, guidance and assurance across establishments within the South Central region, working closely with local prison teams to drive consistency, share best practice and support operational delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge, skills and experience comparable to those required of an Offender Management Unit (OMU) Hub Manager, enabling them to provide credible support and assurance across a range of operational settings. They should either hold or be willing to acquire a Licence to Operate. As a regional role, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake regular travel and site visits across South Central prisons (HMP Aylesbury, HMP Bullingdon, HMP Grendon and Springhill, HMP Huntercombe, and HMP Winchester) to build effective working relationships, provide on-the-ground support, and maintain an understanding of local operational priorities and challenges.

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid. HMPPS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the HMPPS’ Flexible Working policy.
