Overview of the job

The job holder will undertake the full range of work with people on probation before and after sentence. This includes assessment, sentence implementation, offender management and producing reports. The job holder will provide case management support to a full range of people on probation, utilising service procedures and practice directions that underpin professional judgement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess offenders and develop individualised monitoring plans.
  • Implement sentences and ensure compliance with court orders.
  • Manage case documentation and produce detailed reports.
  • Provide professional case management support to probationers.

Working Conditions

There will be an expectation of travel around eastern and western Lincolnshire to support service users. The role is based at a wide variety of office, court, team or prison locations within the Probation Service region, with allocations made according to business need.

Salary and Progression

Starting salary will be £26,475. The Probation Service offers annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF), which, if eligible, will see your pay increase. New entrants are expected to join at the minimum of the pay band. Pay band ranges are increased annually in line with Civil Service Pay guidance.

Employment Requirements

You must have the right to work in the UK and in the Civil Service. The role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa. You must have held a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025 to be considered for sponsorship. Your eligibility will be assessed in accordance with immigration rules and transitional provisions.
