This Case Administrator role is based within an Approved Premises and remote or home working cannot be offered. Working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate. Approved Premises (AP) are residential units, primarily for those who have been released on licence and who require a high level of supervision to manage the risk of harm they present to the public. The AP plays a key role in supporting the management of these offenders in their transition from custody into the community.

The Probation Service also offers annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF), designed to enable movement up the pay band range as competence grows.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and support functions within the Probation Service and the Approved Premises team.
  • Support the management of offenders in transition from custody to the community, contributing to public safety.
  • Support the probation team with day‑to‑day tasks and casework as required.
Requirements and eligibility

You must have the right to work in the UK and Civil Service nationality rules apply. From 22 July 2025, Skilled Worker visa changes apply. This role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa unless you held a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025 changes. If you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously, raise this during pre‑employment checks for eligibility assessment. You must ensure you have and maintain the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom.
