Overview
As a Court Registry Officer, you are an important cog in the justice machine. You will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court and liaise with multiple stakeholders including members of the judiciary, lawyers, and the public. You'll enjoy the diversity of duties with tasks that include but are not limited to the following.
Responsibilities
- Case management – ensuring files are accurate and up to date, including a large component of data entry and sound decision‑making.
- Court taking – running the court, opening court sessions in English and Te Reo Māori, working closely with the Judiciary in the courtroom and in chambers, and general administration of the court.
- Customer service – interacting with customers on any court related matter, handling enquiries face‑to‑face, by phone or email.
Qualifications & Skills
- Resilient – able to work on sensitive cases at high volumes and fast pace.
- Detail‑oriented and observant – accurate handling of case information.
- Self‑aware – understanding customers and confident working across a range of situations with maturity and positivity.
- Multi‑tasking – manage conflicting priorities and move quickly between tasks.
- Willing to learn – adapt and respond to feedback as legislation and processes change.
- Excellent communication in English; confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation desirable. Comfort with audio‑visual equipment desirable.
- Calm, flexible, and comfortable in a busy courtroom environment.

Salary
Remuneration band pro rata: $60,729 to $80,794, based on skills and experience.
