We're looking for a commercially-minded Legal Counsel to join our team and support our business units across our global gaming operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll be a go-to legal advisor for commercial deals, mobile monetisation strategies, and IP protection – working at pace in a fast-growing environment where perfect information is a luxury and smart judgment calls are essential. We need someone who gets energised by solving problems, not just identifying them.
What will you be doing at Miniclip?
- Commercial matters
- Draft, negotiate and close commercial agreements across the mobile gaming value chain including user acquisition and advertising monetisation partnerships and licensing arrangements.
- Take ownership of transactions from inception through to completion, managing stakeholder expectations and timelines.
- Build and maintain contract templates and playbooks that scale with the business.
- Review and negotiate vendor agreements, partnerships, and other commercial arrangements.
- IP licensing and protection
- Develop and implement IP protection strategies for our game portfolio including global trademark management.
- Draft and negotiate IP licensing agreements.
- Advise on IP infringement matters and collaborate on enforcement strategy.
What are we looking for?
- 3-5 years PQE with at least 2 years gained in-house (PQE is given as a guide only; we are happy to consider candidates who fall outside this range).
- Strong commercial contracting experience with demonstrable ability to negotiate complex deals.
- Working knowledge of IP law, particularly trademarks and licensing.
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
Nice to have:
- Mobile gaming, mobile apps, or ad tech experience – you understand the mobile ecosystem and how free-to-play games make money.
The qualities that matter most:
- Commercially astute: You understand what the business is trying to achieve and find ways to make it happen legally.
- Learning agility: You adapt quickly and learn new areas promptly.
- Decisive: You're comfortable making calls with 80% of the information and moving forward.
- Proactive: You spot issues before they arise and take the initiative to solve them.
- Pragmatic: You balance legal risk with commercial reality and know when 'good enough' beats 'perfect'.
- Low ego, high impact: You care about outcomes, not who gets credit.
- Clear communicator: You can explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers without the jargon.
