We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate results. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, utilising advanced imaging technology such as MRI and CT scans. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of IT systems related to medical imaging, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: DCR or BSc in Radiography, Postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine, Equivalent Qualification
  • Experience: Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Knowledge: Broad knowledge of routine and complex Nuclear Medicine Imaging techniques, evidence of professional development, good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines associated with Nuclear Medicine relating to Radiation Protection and Health & Safety, current trends and developments in Imaging equipment and techniques, understanding of the concept of CPD, knowledge of QA programmes, working knowledge of IR(ME)R, working experience with Information Systems, Nuclear Medicine processing software and PACS
  • Skills: Wide range of clinical skills, excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Personal attributes: Articulate, diplomatic, flexible and calm, enthusiasm for the promotion of Nuclear Medicine and professional standards, positive team player who is a clear communicator with patients and colleagues, positive ambassador of change

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience: PET/CT experience desired, experience with Siemens imaging equipment and MIM processing software
  • Skills: Interest in contributing to CPD throughout the department by undertaking study sessions or giving presentations
