We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate results. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, utilising advanced imaging technology such as MRI and CT scans. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of IT systems related to medical imaging, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • DCR or BSc in Radiography
  • Postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine
  • Equivalent Qualification
  • Experience:
    • To have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Knowledge:
    • Broad knowledge of routine and complex Nuclear Medicine Imaging techniques
    • To provide evidence of professional development
    • To have a good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines associated with Nuclear Medicine relating to Radiation Protection and Health & Safety
    • To have knowledge of current trends and developments in Imaging equipment and techniques
    • To have a good understanding of the concept of CPD
    • To have knowledge of QA programmes
    • To have working knowledge of IR(ME)R
    • To have working experience with Information Systems, Nuclear Medicine processing software and PACS
  • Skills:
    • To have a wide range of clinical skills
    • To have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Personal attributes:
    • To be articulate, diplomatic, flexible and calm
    • To display enthusiasm for the post promotion of Nuclear Medicine and professional standards
    • To be a positive team player who is a clear communicator with patients and colleagues, as well as a positive ambassador of change

    Desirable Requirements:

    • Experience:
    • PET/CT experience desired
    • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment and MIM processing software
  • Skills:
    • To have an interest in contributing to CPD throughout the department by undertaking study sessions or giving presentations
