How to prepare for a job interview at Minerva

Know Your Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your medical knowledge, especially around disability assessments and the DWP's criteria. Being able to discuss how your experience aligns with the role will show that you're not just a qualified doctor, but someone who understands the specific needs of a Functional Assessor.

Showcase Your Communication Skills

Since this role involves producing detailed reports, practice articulating your thoughts clearly and concisely. You might even want to prepare examples of how you've effectively communicated complex medical information in the past, as this will demonstrate your ability to convey important details to non-medical professionals.

Emphasise Your Proactivity

Highlight instances where you've taken the initiative in your previous roles. Whether it’s learning new skills or improving processes, showing that you’re a proactive learner will resonate well with the interviewers, especially since they’re looking for someone keen to develop their clinical knowledge.

Prepare Questions

Interviews are a two-way street, so come armed with thoughtful questions about the role and the company culture. This not only shows your interest but also helps you gauge if this is the right fit for you. Ask about the support for CPD or how the team collaborates on complex cases.
