About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home supporting young people aged 8–18 who may have experienced trauma or challenging early life experiences. This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes for the children and young people living in the home. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the home, lead and support the staff team, and ensure the service meets all safeguarding and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the home, helping to maintain high standards of residential childcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the residential childcare team
- Manage staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Provide mentoring, supervision, and support staff development
- Ensure each child’s care plan is followed and their needs are met
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection
- Work with external professionals including health, education, and therapy services
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home and ensure a safe, welcoming environment
- Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage the home’s budget and operational responsibilities
- Participate in on-call duties when required
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential childcare
- At least 2 years in a senior residential childcare role
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and children’s home regulations
- Experience managing staff, rotas, and care delivery
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Full clean driving licence
Qualification Requirement
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management)
Desirable
- Social Work qualification or relevant post-qualifying award
- Experience in therapeutic or trauma-informed childcare
