Job PurposeThe Press Shop Operative is responsible for setting up and running power presses in alignment with supervisors’ instructions and current works orders. This role is critical for ensuring that the products meet customer requirements and adhere to quality standards., Health & Safety: Strictly follow all business health, safety, and environmental policies.
Operation of Power Presses: Set up and run allocated power presses, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
Quality Control: Follow company procedures to ensure the products meet customer specifications every time.
Technical Proficiency:
Interpret product and gauge technical drawings.
Operate production measuring equipment such as Verniers and Micrometers.
Tooling Management: Liaise with technical departments and toolrooms regarding the running, modification, and repair of tools.
Relationships
Internal: Work closely with the Production Manager, Press Shop Supervisor, Technical Department, and Toolroom staff.
Job RequirementsWorking Hours
Split Shift (Weekly Cycle):
Monday – Thursday: 13:30 – 22:00 (Evening Shift)
Friday: 12:00 – 19:00 (Evening Shift)
Previous experience in operating and maintaining basic power presses.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Familiarity with measuring equipment such as Verniers and Micrometers.
Understanding of quality control principles.
Salary: £12.89 per hour (Day Shift), £16.80 per hour (Evening Shift) (Temp to Perm 14 weeks through Minerva)
Shift Pattern: Split Shift (Weekly Cycle)
Reports To: Department Supervisor, Training: Initial 2-3 months of training on a day shift before transitioning to the split shift schedule.
