About the Role: We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a children's residential home. You will work closely with the Home Manager to provide high-quality care, safeguarding, and support to young people, while assisting and mentoring the care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Home Manager in day-to-day running of the home, including rota planning, shift leading, and professional audits.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and act as a role model.
- Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and updated appropriately.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, providing guidance and support.
- Attend professional meetings and liaise with external professionals as required.
- Deputise for the Home Manager when necessary, including out-of-hours on-call duties.
- Contribute to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of care and equality.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience working in residential care and managing a team.
- Knowledge of childcare legislation and OFSTED standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people and staff.
- Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare principles.
