We are currently recruiting a Residential Support Worker for a reputable, Ofsted-registered children's home in Hoddesdon EN11. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in a residential children's home.

You will play a key role in supporting children and young people with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, contributing to a safe and nurturing environment during times of challenge and change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist with personal care where necessary, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Help implement individual care plans and work closely with key workers
  • Encourage engagement in positive activities and life skill development
  • Observe, record, and report any changes in behaviour, health, or emotional state
  • Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and well-organised
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Participate in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, on a rota basis

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a residential children's home or similar care setting is preferred
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
