Salary: £24,326 per annum + £73.89 per sleep-in shift (up to 2 per week)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 24/7 rota (including evenings, weekends & bank holidays)

Minerva Recruitment is working with a respected local organisation supporting young people aged 16-21, including care leavers, on their journey toward independent living. We are seeking a Housing Support Worker to join a Colchester based supported housing service that provides a safe and nurturing environment. Many of our residents have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse, and we are here to help them regain stability and independence.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage a caseload of young people, helping them set and work toward personal goals.
  • Support daily living skills such as budgeting, tenancy management, and benefit access.
  • Encourage positive engagement in education, employment, or training.
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with external agencies.
  • Organise and lead meaningful, creative activities to promote wellbeing and community.
  • Always promote safeguarding and a trauma-informed approach.

  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and safeguarding.
  • Confident communicator with strong IT skills (Word/Excel).
  • A team player who can also take initiative.
  • Passionate about empowering young people to thrive.
