This key appointment in our clients bridge engineering team represents an excellent opportunity to join one of the UKs most recognised consultancies. Work is predominantly within the Public sector delivering engineering consultancy services under Local Authority framework contracts and also delivering schemes for the HA. There are no 'typical' projects with current workload ranging from small scale bridge inspection schemes through to major new build projects.

Your role as Principal Engineer will be to take the lead of a team in delivering and managing this project portfolio. You will be required to manage resources effectively in line with the various project requirements whilst developing a realistic and achievable programme. It will also be your responsibility to manage associated budgets and to always seek out opportunities for value engineering to enhance the service delivered and to ensure client satisfaction.

As the Principal Bridge Engineer you will be expected to provide technical leadership and to act as a mentor in helping develop other team members as they develop their own civil engineering careers.

The successful applicant for this role will be a Degree qualified, Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with a strong technical background in bridge engineering complimented with the confidence and ability to lead from the front to ensure project delivery. Ideally you will have gained a diverse range of design and project management experience in bridge engineering delivering schemes for Local Authorities and the Highways Agency. You will be someone who is a good communicator and quality focused in everything you do.
