This medium sized consultancy specialises in Civil and Structural Engineering and in particular they are heavily involved in office, warehouse and industrial building developments. Their range of services includes the co-ordination of specialist geotechnical and contamination investigations, design of site remediation, design and detailing of highways works, and the design of building foundations and superstructures alongside other smaller scheme structural engineering works.
Job Description:
Current projects range from multi-storey office and residential developments to large warehouses and distribution depots. Our client is also currently involved in several out of town retail developments as well as refurbishment and alteration of existing buildings. The majority of our clients work is currently in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area however they do have projects across the length and breadth of the country.
You will be required to produce design calculations for various types of structures and in various structural materials and will be required to coordinate and supervise drawings and calculations prepared by junior members of staff.
You will be required to manage a variety of projects, making decisions from inception through detail design and to handover. You will be working in a demanding environment, liaising with clients, colleagues and other members of the design team.
Person Specification:
To apply for this position you hold a relevant degree within Civil / Structural engineering. Ideally you will be CEng but they may consider candidate who are working towards Chartership depending on their experience.
You will demonstrate initiative, good team working, communication and time management skills and will also be highly motivated and flexible.
You will be able to work under pressure to achieve your goals.
You will possess excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
Software experience in TEDDS, Tekla Structures Designer, Fastrack Portal Frame, CADS and MasterSeries would be desirable.
