Hours: Minimum of 22.5 hours per week up to a maximum of full time 37.5 hours per week (hours and flexible working options can be discussed with the successful candidate(s)

Job Purpose:

The Community Bridge Builders will focus on supporting people to reduce their isolation, become more involved with their local community and as a result become more independent and self-directing. The different components of the service are – providing information and signposting; mental health promotion; self-help; volunteering; and helping form a network of opportunities to engage with and create pathways which will help people move on.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge required:

  • GCSE/O Level grade C or above in English & Maths or equivalent
  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience of providing support to people with a mental illness either in a paid or voluntary position OR demonstrate a minimum of 1 years’ experience of providing support in another care setting.
  • Knowledge of the main mental health diagnoses and support available
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles
  • Ability to assess and manage risks
  • NISCC Registration or eligible to be registered from commencement of role
  • Ability to lone work without direct supervision
  • Be able to demonstrate flexibility in working hours, for example, working evenings and weekends.
