HR&OD – Shaping our Vision and Workforce

The Organisational Development (OD) team plays a crucial role in helping the council build a flexible, highly skilled, and capable workforce. Our aim is to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills and attitudes, in the right roles, at the right time.

Our Trainers are central to achieving this goal by providing essential training and development to internal staff, particularly within health and social care.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and deliver a wide range of courses, including statutory and mandatory training for health and social care staff, such as safeguarding and medication awareness.
2. Deliver external courses to support income generation, including both non-accredited and accredited social care and healthcare training.
3. Occasionally deliver council-wide courses, such as Assertiveness and Effective Communication.
4. Participate in a 15-minute micro-teach session during the interview process to demonstrate teaching skills and engagement.

Qualifications:

1. A recognised teaching or training qualification (ideally at Level 4 or equivalent).
2. A strong understanding of quality frameworks, functional skills, and IAG.
