We’re looking for a mid-level Technical Writer with hardware experience to join a global technology environment on a contract basis.

Location: Wilmslow

If you have solid experience writing technical documentation for hardware or technology products and enjoy working closely with engineering and product teams, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Independently create clear, accurate, and concise technical documentation in electronic formats for a global audience
  • Work with SMEs and project stakeholders to gather and validate technical information
  • Convert complex technical input into audience-friendly content
  • Plan and manage documentation deliverables to meet project timelines
  • Follow structured content development processes and tool guidelines
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Informatics, Project Management, Product Marketing, and Service teams
  • Adapt to new authoring tools and processes
  • Identify and raise potential project risks proactively

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong technical writing experience, ideally within a technology or hardware-focused environment
  • Strong documentation usability knowledge
  • Experience with structured authoring and information modelling (DITA, XML)
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Familiarity with HTML and XML formats
  • Experience with JIRA or similar tracking tools
  • Understanding of localization processes
  • Experience working with style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style)
  • Exposure to agile development environments and recurring release cycles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and product domains
