Year 11 Academic Coach

Year 11 Academic Coach

Full-Time No working from home possible
M

I'm looking for two Year 11 Academic Coaches to join Mindset Lab. For seven years, Mindset Lab has helped GCSE students improve their results by 1–3 grades across all subjects by building their executive function skills, motivation and confidence. With less stress, nagging and, importantly, positive wellbeing at the heart of it.

I've now worked with over 500 families, and demand has grown to the point where I'm looking for my first academic coaches to join me.

What you'd be doing

  • Working with Year 11 GCSE students who are averaging at least a Grade 4 currently to improve their GCSE results by 1-3 grades
  • Onboarding new families into the programme
  • Looking after your own cohort of families - starting small and growing depending on your capacity
  • Running individual review calls with students and parents: celebrating what's improving and why, and making a plan for any subjects or behaviours that need support
  • Tracking student progress and exam results across the year to optimise for outcomes across grades, wellbeing and positive family dynamics

This is a proven, fully systemised programme β€” set process, templates, guidance and full training.

All group coaching is already delivered, so you won't run group sessions. I do all the marketing and bring in the families β€” your job is purely to coach and support students and parents successfully work through and implement the programme techniques.

I'm looking for someone who wants to master a successful framework and deliver it brilliantly β€” bringing their professional judgment and ideas to make it

better, but being comfortable delivering within a proven approach.

Who I'm looking for

  • A qualified secondary school teacher (QTS) with experience teaching GCSE students β€” you may still be in the classroom or have already left
  • A track record of improving student results β€” you can point to students whose confidence, skills and grades you've already transformed
  • Someone who loves inspiring and mentoring teenagers has to be the part of the job you enjoy most
  • Confident working with parents as well as students
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating GCSE students
  • At least 6 months working with gifted students in an educational, coaching, or mentoring setting
  • Proven high performance in any field - academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or the arts

What's in it for you

  • No sales required - you'll be assigned families to work with who have already joined the programme
  • A proven framework and full training, so you're set up to succeed from day one
  • Real growth: start at 5–10 hours a week alongside your current commitments, and grow with your cohort into a substantial ongoing role β€” helping shape Mindset Lab as it expands
  • Freelance, online β€” flexible hours. Note some evenings or weekends required.
  • Β£50–£70 per hour depending on experience.

Applications close Tuesday 8th September. Online interviews week beginning 14 September.
