Reporting to: Digital Health Manager, UK
Reporting to the Digital Health Manager you will work with the Regional Account Managers, Service Engineers, and Clinical Applications Specialists to provide project management leadership for large patient monitoring life support (PMLS) projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful delivery of large projects to the customer’s requirements.
Also working across the whole sales cycle you will also offer project management, workflow, connectivity and professional expertise to enhance our sales value proposition, helping to articulate our solutions to customers and build their confidence in our ability to deliver turn-key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- You will serve as the lead Project Manager for complex projects in the area of PMLS, coordinating post-sale implementations encompassing workflow optimisation, EMR/IT connectivity options, installation and clinical training.
- You will be the go-to person for complex projects and opportunities to drive Mindray’s project management and IT capabilities.
- Your role will interact with hospitals and you will be expected to function well within a team selling/project environment, consulting effectively with customers to build the optimum solution delivery for their needs.
- This position will require exceptional collaboration with end user customers, internal Mindray stakeholders and third-party partners. You will be dealing with complex selling/project situations involving multiple stakeholders and detailed solutions.
- The role will be required to coordinate and command meetings and communications with clinical engineers, IT professionals and clinicians to define project plans, resources and timescales.
- You should be able to interact at a high level in terms of technical capabilities with both end-user customers and EMR partners.
- Involvement in smaller projects in an advisory capacity where a level of project management/IT/EMR knowledge and understanding is needed to continue to move the opportunity forward toward close.
- The successful individual will show clear understanding of customer’s network capabilities and IT infrastructure that will interact with our devices. In addition, you will need to understand the thick/thin client environment of our customers and our various connectivity options with EMR/third party partners, ensuring end-user connectivity requirements and workflows are being effectively converted to EMR connectivity workflows and interfaces.
- You will work closely with the service organisation to ensure the requirements are clearly communicated and understood and that Mindray can deliver on those requirements prior to receiving an order.
- This position should be able to exercise independent decision making with minimal management support.
- This will be an independent working position with an emphasis on working well with a team.
- While an independent position, there should be close communication and collaboration with other senior management to ensure complete understanding of large opportunities from a competitive cost and capability point of view.
- You will correspond both verbally and via written format with a high degree of professionalism with end user customers, technical partners and internal team mates.
- This position will not consist of people management responsibilities.
- 50+% travel is required.
Required background:
The successful candidate will need to be able to command and communicate effectively in a complex project/selling process. A results driven person with the ability to think strategically and act tactfully to drive results.
- BA/BSc or equivalent degree desired
- Prince 2 or equivalent project management qualifications
- Highly experienced with involvement in complex selling processes and connectivity.
- Highly experienced in managing deployment of large scale medical devices within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving IT infrastructure and network environments, working closely with IT professionals to deliver EPR/EMR integrations and ensure effective data connectivity and workflow integration.
- Excellent communication skills
- Wide understanding of networking (LAN, WLAN, RLAN, etc.) and wireless Protocols IEEE 802.11 (A B G N)
- Understanding of the HL7 framework (and related standards) for the exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic health information.
- Working understanding of the issues affecting medical device deployment in a hospital / clinical setting, for example, addressing wireless shielding issues.
