<p>NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.</p><p>This is a permanent, part-time post of 34 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.</p><p>The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Occupational Therapist at Esteem Early Intervention in Psychosis service. The team covers the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, working with 16-35 year olds presenting with a first episode of Psychosis, providing assessment and treatment.</p><p>All applicants should have a diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. The post holder will provide a specialist Occupational Therapy clinical lead within this area. This will involve specialist assessment, treatment and evaluation, both individually and in groups. The post holder will work alongside other members of the Multidisciplinary Team and will provide specialist professional advice to other disciplines, carers and agencies.</p><p>The post holder will also carry out the role of keyworker within the service, completing mental health assessments and delivering treatment within this specialist area. The post holder may also have responsibility for the supervision of junior staff.</p><p>Regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided, CPD is supported and a Grade Specific Training Programme operates within Occupational Therapy in NHSGG&C.</p><p>The post holder will have the responsibility for the management of both their own community caseload and the management and supervision of the caseloads of others within the team.</p><p>The post holder will provide a comprehensive, specialist Occupational Therapy service for clients with a diagnosis of First Episode Psychosis within the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.</p><p>The post holder will take a lead role in promoting partnership working within the mental health network, both internally and externally.</p><p>The post holder will have responsibility for profession specific clinical governance activity within the Early Intervention team for First Episode Psychosis which will include the monitoring of standards of care and service, responding to complaints, staff support, career long learning, continuous development, supporting practice education for under and post graduate students, clinical supervision, and the implementation of policy and clinical guidelines.</p><p>The post holder is responsible for the management and provision of an Early Intervention service for First Episode Psychosis that aims to promote a vision of recovery as indicated by maximizing levels of engagement, maximizing contact with families and carers, minimizing psychotic symptoms, clients spending less time in hospital with less use of the mental health act, fewer incidents of self harm, increased user and carer satisfaction, increased number and range of interventions, improved social functioning all of which aim to reduce stigma and engage service users in retaining access to the ordinary activities of their lives.</p><p>Delivering Early Intervention psychosis interventions is a Scottish Government priority within Mental Health. This post is vital in ensuring that Greater Glasgow and Clyde can deliver on this expectation.</p><p>Interview dates will be confirmed in due course.
